Energy Theft

What is Energy Theft ?

Energy Theft is when a person intentionally tampers with the meter so that it doesn’t accurately record consumption, therefore stealing energy.

Is Energy Theft illegal ?

Yes. Energy Theft is a serious crime with consequences such as large fines and prison sentences.

What are the dangers of tampering with a meter ?

Tampering with a meter is extremely dangerous and puts the lives of anyone in the property and neighbouring areas as risk. The meter could electrocute, cause electrical fires or explosions.

What should I do if I suspect Energy Theft ?

If you suspect Energy Theft at either yours or someone else’s property, you should report it to your energy supplier as soon as possible.

If you would prefer to remain anonymous, you can contact Crimestoppers or UKRPA where you can report it in strict confidence.

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be speaking to a diverse range of customers to quickly understand their energy supply needs. We will provide you with the training required for you to take ownership of customer problems and take them through to a full resolution. Excellent customer service is key to yours and our success so, if you are a good listener, and a confident verbal communicator who can adapt your communication approach to meet different customer needs then this is the role for you. We are looking for people who enjoy taking ownership of problems and have a passion for decision making and problem solving.


Field Sales Advisor

Field Based

We are recruiting for driven, ambitious, Energy Field Sales Advisors to join our national field based team. Working door to door and using our bespoke iPad app, you will visit potential customers promoting the tariffs we offer and the benefits of switching to E. You will also be able to offer potential new customer the opportunity to have a Smart Meter installed in their home. We offer competitive, uncapped commission and on average, our Advisors will earn between £800 - £1100 per week, although many will achieve more.

Would Economy 7 help me save money?

It depends how much of your electricity you can use at night rather than during the day. Because the daytime rate is higher than normal to balance out the off-peak rate, unless you are using more than 50% of your energy at night , Economy 7 actually works out more expensive. So do check carefully before you commit to switching.

Will a smart meter save me money?

It’s not the meter itself that saves you money, it’s the information you’ll get from it. Because it’ll show you exactly what you’re using and when, you can learn how to save energy – and potentially reduce how much you use. You’ll get a clearer insight into how much energy different appliances and actions use, you can modify your behaviour to make savings.
